September 2020 | Celebrating a Legacy of Fashion and Excellence: The Daniel Bauer Academy at Lakmé Fashion Week

The first-ever fashion show, held in New York in 1903, marked the beginning of an era that has shaped the fashion world for over a century—and will continue to do so for many more. Now, what does this groundbreaking moment have to do with the Daniel Bauer Academy, India's leading makeup and hair institution? Everything.

This season, the Daniel Bauer Academy proudly completed its sixth year at Lakmé Fashion Week, India's premier fashion event. For over six days, 45 talented students from across India joined us backstage, representing cities such as Delhi, Bangalore, Calcutta, Hyderabad, and, of course, Mumbai. Among them were 10 artists from our top makeup academy in Delhi, all united by a shared commitment to excellence.

What truly surprised us this season was the transformation of our students—many of whom initially joined the Academy to specialize in bridal makeup—into passionate fashion enthusiasts. The energy, buzz, creativity, and adrenaline of a fashion show are unlike anything else, and it’s clear that our students are falling in love with the fast-paced world of fashion makeup.

At the Daniel Bauer Academy, we believe in nurturing versatile artists. While some students come to us with a clear vision of becoming top bridal makeup artists in Delhi or making their mark in the fashion, film, or TV industries in cities like Bangalore and Mumbai, we know that true artistry knows no bounds. Our approach ensures that our students are prepared to tackle any brief—whether it's bridal, fashion, beauty, TV shows, events, or even the red carpet.

India is a country teeming with exciting opportunities for makeup artists. Those who thrive are the ones with the skills to adapt to every challenge. To put it simply: don’t limit yourself to one style or industry. Be a multifaceted artist capable of mastering any creative brief. As in cooking, you wouldn’t want to be a chef who can only make an omelette. You want to be the artist who can craft any dish.

Many of our students spend weeks, sometimes months, searching for the best makeup academy in Mumbai or the top bridal makeup academy in Delhi.
