This was a pioneering time and set the template for the next 100 years, and I’m sure will continue to do so for the next 100 years and beyond. The Daniel Bauer Academy has just completed an incredible 6th season at Lakme Fashion week, India’s most high profile fashion showcase. We had 45 students join us backstage from all over India, including 10 artists from our top makeup academy in Delhi, as well as artists from Bangalore, Calcutta, Hyderabad and of course Mumbai.

What really surprised us about this season, was just how many artists who originally joined our academy to learn bridal makeup in our academy are now totally and utterly addicted and love with fashion — the energy, buzz, creativity and adrenaline of a fashion show is simply out of this world.

At the Daniel Bauer Academy, we try to instil in each of our students a sense of the type of artist they wish to be. Some want to be top bridal makeup artists in Delhi, other seek to establish their name in the Fashion, Film, Beauty or TV industry in Bangalore and Mumbai. All are exciting and vibrant industries, but we feel great artists, can do anything, be it bridal, fashion, beauty, TV Shows, events, or even red carpet.

We produce artists who can tackle any brief, we don’t believe in producing just one type of artist (bridal only artist for example).

India is full of exhilarating and exciting jobs for makeup and hair artists. Those who are able to take advantage of these opportunities are those with the adaptable skills to master any brief.

To use a cooking analogy, don’t be a chef who can only cook an omelette. Be an artist who can cook any dish.
