June is Pride Month, which means unified voices from across the globe are coming together to support and honor the LGBTQIA+ community. Pride month is all about educating, celebrating all this community have achieved and spreading awareness about gay rights, and continuing to move forward in equality. It’s so beautiful that we dedicate this month to uplift the LGBTQ community and support their rights. This being said, it breaks my heart to see brands rainbow wash their logos and run creative campaigns without actually giving back to the community. They make so many profits off of these campaigns and do nothing actually to support the LGBTQ community.

Daniel Bauer Academy wanted to break the chain and do something to help people from the LGBTQ community to pursue their dream of becoming makeup artists. We want to normalize this and give the community a voice. In collaboration with NYX cosmetics, we have decided to give scholarships to people from the LGBTQ community to join the Daniel Bauer Academy. Isn’t that awesome?

They call us the best makeup academy in India. You can’t be the best if you don’t care for your people, your community, and most importantly your audience. We try to give back always. Collaborating with NYX was one of the best decisions we ever made. Giving it to their amazing formulations and products is the least we can say about them. They’re the most diverse and raw makeup brand in the market. With so many makeup brands talking about pride month, NYX doesn’t celebrate pride for just the month, they celebrate Pride all year, every day! From cruelty-free, pro-level pigments to unstoppable self-expression and everything in between, NYX is killing it.

Oftentimes we tend to forget that LGBTQ students face a lot of financial difficulties usually due to lack of family support, or discrimination against future employment. Being anxious about getting rejected for financial assistance because of their gender identity and sexual orientation is very common. Doesn’t feel right! We want to provide an opportunity for them to earn an education. With this scholarship, we want to make a difference in their lives, let them be stress-free about financial loans, and achieve their goals of becoming an artist.

We hope that this scholarship will not only enhance their creativity but also give them the financial independence they deserve. Nothing will make us prouder than when we see our students are happy and doing what they love. It feels good to know that we are slowly becoming a world that embraces diversity and doesn’t fight it.

• The makeup scholarship can be availed of at either the Mumbai or Delhi Academy
• The makeup scholarship is Module 1 & 2 of our signature Artist Ready Course
• The makeup scholarship is valid from October 2021 to October 2022
