The Daniel Bauer Academy returned to the Fashion Design Council of India’s prestigious India Couture Week (ICW) for the second time—this time, making an unforgettable impact. Not only did we open the show, but we also had the honor of closing Delhi’s biggest couture week with the same energy, passion, and glamour that define the DBA experience.

Elevating Rahul Mishra’s Vision with Artistry and Excellence

A true pioneer of Indian couture, Rahul Mishra is the first Indian designer to showcase at Paris Haute Couture Week, and this year at ICW, the Daniel Bauer Academy had the privilege of leading the hair and makeup for his much-anticipated fashion film. It was an extraordinary moment for our students, who brought their expertise and creativity to one of the most prestigious names in Indian fashion.

A Shoot Like No Other: Defining Luxury in the Heart of History

This wasn’t just another fashion shoot—it was an experience of a lifetime. Set in centuries-old Shekhawati havelis, including one that had remained closed for 80 years, the location itself became an integral part of the story. The challenges were real—early call times, no traditional makeup rooms, minimal electricity, and scorching heat—but our artists rose to the occasion.

Despite the odds, our students mastered the art of long-wear makeup in extreme temperatures, created flawless modern bridal hairstyles, and executed multiple look changes with efficiency and precision. This was couture beauty at its finest—adaptable, innovative, and always stunning.

Learning Beyond the Classroom: The DBA Way

At the Daniel Bauer Academy, we believe in preparing our artists for every challenge. Before they graduate and work with real-life bridal clients, they gain hands-on experience with India’s most celebrated designers. From Manish Malhotra and Sabyasachi to Tarun Tahiliani and Gaurav Gupta, our students have been part of groundbreaking fashion campaigns—and now, they’ve added Rahul Mishra to this iconic list.

His latest collection—a breathtaking fusion of vibrant hues, soft pastels, and dreamy ivories—found the perfect contrast against the raw, rustic backdrop of the abandoned havelis. The result? A couture moment that was both timeless and visionary.
